Niger (the) Stablecoin Regulation
Stage: Proposed
Regulator: None
Niger has no dedicated stablecoin issuance or licensing regime. Ordonnance n°2024-56 of 19 December 2024 transposes the 2023 UEMOA uniform AML/CFT law and brings virtual asset service providers (PSAV) into AML/CFT obligations, although GIABA follow-up reporting notes that virtual-asset risk assessment and supervision remain weak. BCEAO's regional crypto-asset framework (C-CRYPTO committee, May 2026) remains in preparation, so no operative PSAV licence or stablecoin rules are in force.
