Brunei Darussalam has no dedicated stablecoin or VASP licensing regime. Cryptocurrencies are not legal tender and are not regulated by Brunei Darussalam Central Bank (BDCB), though holding and peer trading are not generally criminalised. BDCB has warned on crypto risks since 2017 and has said a licensing framework is under development, but no operational registration path for private stablecoin issuance exists.
