It is owned by VersaHoldings US Corp., a wholly owned subsidiary of VersaBank, a Canadian chartered bank listed on the TSX and NASDAQ (VBNK). Formerly Stearns Bank Holdingford, N.A., it was acquired and renamed effective 30 August 2024 (OCC Conditional Approval 1323; Federal Reserve approval 6 June 2024). VersaBank's 1 October 2026 release says VersaBank USA, N.A. is serving as issuer of Roughrider Coin, the Bank of North Dakota stablecoin on Fiserv's Digital Asset Platform, with responsibility for minting, burning, custody and reserve asset management.
